Support Tina's Family in Their Time of Need

Hello, my name is Tina. I usually don’t publicly ask for help, but my family is at our breaking point.

In the beginning of this year, my mother has been in and out of the hospital numerous times. She has been diagnosed with kidney failure stage 3, diabetes type 2, and is currently getting checked on the possibility of liver cancer. She is on dialysis three times a week and legally disabled. Due to this, she is currently unemployed, which left the bills to my father and me. She is fighting every day to live longer in hopes of watching my siblings and me graduate before she is no longer with us. It breaks my heart to wake up every day seeing her struggle to do basic activities such as getting up from her bed.

My dad currently handles the majority of our household bills, including the gas, electric, water, and groceries, which has taken a tremendous toll on his mental and physical health. However, this does not compare to my mother’s medical bills: a total balance of around $4,000. We have applied for government benefits, but they are taking longer to review our application. This puts an immense toll on my father and me as we are struggling to support our family with our income alone.

Being the oldest, I am responsible for taking care of my mother’s hospital visits, numerous doctor appointments, updated prescriptions, etc. I vividly remember waking around 3 a.m. on a school night, rushing out with the EMTs, praying my mother will be alright. That day my mother stayed in the hospital for a whole week. Right after school, my dad and my siblings would come visit her in hopes she gets discharged that same day. It’s heartbreaking to see the person who brought you into the world at her weakest point, lying hopelessly on a hospital bed.

I usually don’t publicly ask for help like this. But these past few months have been hard. My parents are the strongest and kindest people I know. They don’t deserve to go through this. I am humbly asking friends and family to help and share this GoFundMe. Any financial aid will greatly ease our unfortunate situation. It means the world for your guys' support.
