“In just one night, everything I built was taken from me but I refuse to lose hope.”

Hello, my name is Gloria, and I am reaching out with a humble and hopeful heart after experiencing one of the most life-changing tragedies I have ever faced. I live in Trelawny, Jamaica a place that has always been my comfort, my pride, and my home. But recently, Hurricane Melissa tore through our community with a force that none of us were prepared for.

During the storm, the wind and rain were terrifying. In just moments, the hurricane ripped the entire roof off my home. With nothing to protect it, the heavy rain poured inside and destroyed everything my furniture, personal items, and the things I worked so hard to build over the years.

When the storm passed and I saw the damage, my heart broke. My home, my safe place, had become unlivable. I felt lost, overwhelmed, and unsure of where to begin. Yet, even through the tears and the fear, I am choosing to hold on to hope.

Today, I am humbly asking for your help. I cannot rebuild alone.
