Greeting. Our 10-year-old son Leon needs your help to enable him to live as independently as possible.
Leon has congenital hydrocephalus. In the first two years of his life, he had a total of 7 operations due to the mentioned problem. He developed complications from the procedure such as epilepsy, meningitis and bleeding in the brain.
At the age of 4 years and 9 months, Leon also experienced an ischemic stroke. Despite the terrible consequences (the loss of the right side of his body and the inability to speak) that he suffered from the mentioned trauma, he recovered quite well.
Leon is walking today, although he has a big problem with balance and speaks simple words. But he is very late in psychomotor development. As we have exhausted ourselves financially and mentally over the years, we need help to provide Leon with what every child deserves, which is a quality and fulfilling life. He is now a very frustrated and anxious boy because his condition does not allow him to have the kind of life his peers have. Leon is almost completely excluded from all activities attended by his peers and from school due to his health problems. As he has no brothers and sisters, he misses his peers very much. It is difficult for Leon to get involved in playing and working with his peers because he does not yet have sufficiently developed communication and social skills to be able to independently "negotiate" with his peers. Often because of this, he isolates himself even more and expresses this through undesirable behavior. Unfortunately, the consequences of all the events he experienced and the lack of social life also affected his mental state. Leon has constant motor restlessness.
According to Leon's current condition, the most urgent and necessary required items which are not covered by health insurance, are the following items:
- examinations by specialists from outside Croatia and their therapy - approximately $7,000
- a special type of physical therapy that should be carried out continuously - the minimum amount for one year is $22,000
- quantum reflex integration devices, for parents to work at home: VLP & Harmonic Helmet Package, Led Harmonic Footbath, Tesla star, Infinity Wavwe Total Body Harmonizer, QRI Sinergy, Blood Irradiation Crystals, CAP, Reading & Writing Program - current total amount for all devices ( Devices & Literacy program ) is $8,700
- special laboratory and other diagnostic tests - approximately $6,000
- travel expenses - approximately $4,000
Total approx. amount of this campaign is $47,700 (44.500 EUR).
