Yellowcom Christmas Toy Bank
Donation protected
Christmas should be a magical time for kids; but unfortunately this may not be the case for some kids within our communities and some kids face waking up on Christmas day without a single present to open.
This Christmas at Yellowcom we will be raising money for Local communities in Glasgow and Belfast. We will be using the money to help local charities buy toys for kids to help make a kids Christmas magical.
We will be very grateful for any donations as every penny raised will help towards making a kid smile on Christmas day.
My name is Ainsley Maxwell and I am the Billing manager at Yellowcom. Yellowcom is a Telecommunication company based in Glasgow and Belfast. The parties we have raised the funds for are customers of ours and local charities to our area. We will split the amounts raised between both regions and buy toys for kids at Christmas who would likely not be receiving gifts this year from ages 0-17 years old. The charities we have chosen are family support charities and Homeless charities. The charities are Y-people in Glasgow and Ascert and St Vincent de Paul in Belfast. Also; Ascert have advised that they require toys for a volunteer nursery they run during their family support sessions, we will be buying toys for this also. Y-people help many families and young people in finding new accommodation; we will also be buying starter packs for people moving into new homes. The funds will be withdrawn personally to my bank account , and I will personally go to the shops and buy all the toys and starter packs with the amounts raised and deliver these to the chosen charities. The charities have given a list of items needed. We will buy 10 * Home starter packs for Y-people using 25% of the funds; these will consist of Cutlery, crockery sets, glasses, kitchen utensils, cooking pans, toaster and kettle, Bedding sets (single and double) and tea towels/oven gloves etc. We will be using 10% of the funds to buy toys for Ascert nursery using the list given by them of books, puzzles, games and toys. The remaining 65% of the funds will be split amongst Glasgow and Belfast to buy the kids toys for Xmas for Y-people and St Vincent de Paul. Between both regions we have been given a list of just over 100 kids ranging from 0-17 years old both boys and girls. We will buy books, toys, toiletries sets, clothes and shoes for these kids to ensure each kid has at least one gift to open on Christmas day. We will also be buying a games consoles for family centres communal rooms. Yellowcom and Yellowcom staff will be contributing to the fundraising.
