My name is Patricia Brugioni and I live in Chicago Illinois, USA, and have known Heba Ashour and her family for over a year and a half. They are all so dear to my heart. Before starting my story, I want everyone of you to know that it’s very hard to ask people for help, it’s very hard to rely on this help.

My name is Heba Ashour from Gaza, I’m a mother to two kids, Kenan, 3 years old, and Hala, 6 years old and my husband Hassan who has crohn’s disease, and we have had no access to his medication for 2 years now.

It’s been two years, and we are trying to stay alive, displaced more than 10 times, from the north to the south to the north again to the south again, from area to area and place to place. The danger always follows us.

We lost our home and we are living in a tent in the middle of the road.

The prices in Gaza are very high due to lack of humanitarian aid, the food is so little and expensive, imagine the 1 kilo of flour costs us 30$, and of course no one can afford buying vegetables like tomatoes it’s so expensive, canned food may reach $15, how are we supposed to eat?

We are doing everything we can to survive, but the challenges are overwhelming. That’s why I’m asking for your help.

Every donation, no matter the size, makes a meaningful difference helping us secure food,water, medical care, and eventually the means to leave Gaza and find safety.

My son kenan was only 1-year old when this started, he took his first steps in the war, he said Mama and Baba in the war, we couldn’t capture any of this precious moments because there is no electricity in Gaza, and it took us so long to standing the line to charge our phone on the solar panels.

Moving to my beautiful Hala, she always dreamed about going to school and making friends, but this never happened, she is 6 years old and not educated, though she was able to attend kindergarten.

I hope I can make up for all the sadness and pain they’ve been through.

We lost our life and our memories when we were forced to leave our home, but with your help we can have a better

life and future.
