My name is Adam Donaghy and I am currently a lower 6th pupil at St.Patrick’s College Maghera. I have been given an amazing opportunity that I am extremely privileged and grateful for, myself and other students from St Patrick’s college Maghera will travel to Tanzania in July as volunteers to help in St Mary’s Ciara school to enable a better future for the children of Tanzania.

The school was built in memory of Ciara McLaughlin. Ciara sadly passed in 2005 just weeks before she was due to travel to Tanzania as a volunteer herself. Before passing Ciara wrote the following in her creed:

“I believe that everything happens for a reason even though it is so hard at times. I believe that any one person can make a difference and that one day with gods help I can make a difference in the lives of people around me”

We aim to ensure that Ciara’s legacy lives on by making a difference. We have been tasked with raising £2000 each for this cause to go towards Ciara’s school.
