Abbey is home. ❤️
Today, she finally ate with the help of some magic pills. She has a follow up with the vet tomorrow and we’ll find more about her prognosis. Please keep the prayers coming!

Thank you so much for your prayers and support. We are truly grateful. The good news: Abbey made it through her second surgery. The bad news: She had a very rough night and as of morning, was bleeding again. The vet is monitoring her closely and running all the tests, but it’s a scary wait to hear where we’re at.
Please continue to keep Abbey and this sweet family in your prayers. She’s so very uniquely special. ❤️

My sister, Nicole, would never ask for help . . . so I’m doing it for her.
My niece, Indie, has had a medical support dog, Abbey, since she was 14 years old. Abbey is trained to both alert Indie to high and low blood sugars for her Type 1 Diabetes and as a PTSD dog, which has allowed her to provide emotional support not only to Indie, but to her entire family.
When Indie’s dad, Bill, passed away 18 months ago from cancer, Abbey was by his side, providing comfort through his passing. She has since provided unfathomable support to both Indie and Nicole. They’ve been through so much loss over the past several years and are now facing the very real possibility of losing Abbey.
Abbey was diagnosed this week with a large sarcoma, a tumor by her collar bone, that required immediate surgery today. While Abbey initially made it through, she’s been taken back into surgery due to unexpected, continued bleeding. We’re waiting anxiously now to find out if she’s okay, if there are clear margins and if by the Grace of God that answer is yes, if chemotherapy will be required. We’re praying hard.
If you know Nic, you know this season has been devastating. To lose another love would be truly heartbreaking. The family is still struggling financially from the care Bill’s battle and passing required, so if you can offer any help to ensure Abbey is able to get the medical care she needs to continue loving and supporting this family . . . and pray for Abbey’s health . . . we would be forever grateful.
