Supporting Kevin As He Battles Cancer- A Wish

Donation protected
Hello to my friends and family. It’s very rare that I reach out to my community to ask for a favor or any type of “help”, but I believe this one has just cause. I’m reaching out to all of you whom I love and cherish in hopes that you find it in your heart to give at a time when it means the most.

I’ve been quite private about this at the request of my brother. But I feel it’s time to share in hopes of generating community support. My brother, Kevin, has Stage 4 Lung Cancer. He’s been battling this for the last 18 months. He has a rare form of it, which is a non-smoker type that affects 1-2% of all people with lung cancer. It’s called ROS1. Lung, bone and brain with other metastasis as well. Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths in the US. Mainly because it’s caught in advanced stages. There is no surgery and no cure. He’s gone through two rounds of targeted Chemotherapy, radiation, and due to the aggressive nature of his particular type, he now has to go through the IV form (drip) of chemotherapy. He is on his fourth round.

He can’t work because of this and life gets quite pricey with no income. Being on disability will only last so long and it’s no where near what he needs financially to help him through. Needless to say, his treatments are a difficult process and he’s very hopeful this will prolong the quality and quantity of his life. He is fighting FOR his life against an aggressive cancer. Which if you can imagine, takes a huge toll on him, us as his family, and his friends.

He’s a very private person, but I know that at times like these, it’s when you lean on others for love, prayers and support. As I was taking him for his first round of IV chemo, he told me casually, that he hopes to be well enough to see Taylor Swift in concert in LA, in August. That is his ONE wish. He’s a SUPER FAN, although he does not call himself a “Swifty”, lol. He’s waited two years to see her in concert, all while battling cancer. He was one of the people who got kicked out of the Ticketmaster queue when he was one of the fans who had a first-time slot. He was devastated at a time when this would have been the one thing to look forward to. He even asked his oncologist if he would be well enough to make it to the show.

This is a SURPRISE to him. Please DO NOT reach out to him, but rather let your contribution be his support. He is very PRIVATE about this. So what I want to do here is two things: Help him with his living expenses (number one) and also get him kick-ass seats to see Taylor Swift. Tickets are astronomically expensive due to the overwhelming desire of her fans to see her in concert. Granting him this wish after all he has gone through and will be going through is amazing. His fight is not over…and this will give him a HUGE reason to smile and push harder to put his cancer in remission. Especially knowing how much love and support he has.

If someone you love was going through one of the toughest times of their life and had one wish…what would you do to help make it happen? For me, this is it. A community helping him during this time would be the most beautiful thing of all.

With profound gratitude, THANK YOU. I appreciate you!!
