Hey everyone. Rob here. I’ve never done the whole GoFundMe thing, but if ever there was a time, it’s now.

My parents, Rodney and Andrea, fell victim to an elaborate scam over the weekend and lost $8,000.

The scammers used AI to generate my voice and called to tell my mom I had been driving under the influence and had caused an accident, putting a small child in a coma.

The scam took place over 24 hours with repeated phone calls back-and-forth between “me” and “my lawyer”. They knew everything about me, and even went as far as telling them that I didn’t want Haley or anyone else to know.

Hearing it described by my mom, I can completely see how they fell victim to this.

So I’m hoping we can help them out, if even a little bit. I have never met more caring, giving, generous people. They didn’t deserve to have this happen to them right before the holidays.

Despite everything, my mom told me tonight, “I don’t even care about the money. I’m just so relieved that my son is OK and I get to spend Christmas with him.”
