My close friend’s daughter, Charlotte, took a fall and obtained a traumatic brain injury Friday 4/4. Charlotte and her mother, Rachel, were airlifted from Hope, Idaho to Spokane, Washington for emergency brain surgery while her father, Cal, and her three siblings awaited good news back home. Charlotte's head injury caused a major brain bleed and a large blood clot that had to be removed. After speaking to the neurosurgeon, Rachel was brought to the understanding that Charlotte's case was life-threatening and needed immediate care. She was then rushed into surgery and the waiting began. After a long few hours of uncertainty, Charlotte was transferred to the pediatric intensive care unit following a successful surgery and has started the road to recovery. While there are currently no noticeable signs that Charlotte will have any severe brain damage, the future still remains uncertain. As this incredibly resilient and spunky 4-year-old continues to rock recovery, I hope to lift some stress off this situation for the family's sake. Absolutely anything is appreciated and please continue to send good thoughts their way.
