We have worked with Tusa and YANA for a few years now. We have been helping with a small donation for their teachers' salary but we know more is needed. Here is a message from Tusa the founder of YANA.
Hello family, we do have some emergencies and sometimes there are events that need additional help so we thought it wise to create a go fund me for it.
The common emergency is that we usually have is running out on money for food, money for groceries or even money for fuel. Having this go fund me will be helping us cover cost for such problems.
Sometimes we need money to buy basic children’s items and school necessities like school bags and etc.
Sometimes we also want to do like a charity work so we can use some of the funds for that.
So all I can say is that these funds will be helping us in areas we are struggling in. Usually it’s paying bills for the houses or fixing something that may be broken.
We would like this to be an open donation and anything we have we will make sure we use them properly every month .
Thank you so much,
Tusaiwe
Update 3/31/23-
Thank you all so much for your Donations so far. Tusa and I have been in communication about how to best use these funds. I have wire transferred her the money that has come in to date. She has decided to set up a new bank account to hold this money in to use it for emergencies as they arise. I will be sending the next round of money next month to continue to fill her emergency fund. This fund will be so helpful in the coming months as she continues to take on more kiddos in need.
Thank you for your support,
April M.
Update 6/14/23-
I just wanted to give a small update. As of now, I have sent the money from this GoFund me to Tusa through the end of May's donations. Wire transfers are very costly to do more than 1 time per month. I will do my next transfer at the end of June. I know Tusa has already been so thankful for this emergency fund as she is having to make a change to housing for some of the children and this fund is allowing her to do so.
6/23/23 Update message from Tusa:
So April, May and June we used 7,135,000 mk for emergencies to cover up food and so many things about kids and $10,000 specific went to the building project. So the remaining money is on hold will take some to cover us for July and August and also other emergencies but we will take some of the money to help with roofing the house.
