AAYI Kappa League Annual Fund Drive -

The Ann Arbor-Ypsilanti-Inkster Kappa League Annual Fund Drive seeks to raise $6,000 to support program activities over the next twelve months. These funds help keep registration fees and participation costs accessible to all interested young men, regardless of family income.

About Kappa League

The AAYI Kappa League is the local chapter of the signature national youth development initiative of the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. Kappa League targets African-American high school males and is designed to help young men grow and develop their leadership talents and aspiration goals. It provides both challenging and rewarding experiences to enhance and enrich their lives while creating a community of support for young men. Program activities include leadership and personal development workshops; community service activities; career planning and college visits; goal setting; social/cultural events; and sports competitions that are planned and implemented by Kappa League members themselves.

Achievements

The AAYI Kappa League has established a strong record of achievement over the years. The group has been recognized by the fraternity for their efforts with the first-place award in the National Kappa Alpha Psi Guide Right/Kappa League competition in 2019 and regional first or second-place awards from 2017-2023. The Detroit Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals awarded them the Youth Philanthropy Award in 2019 for their annual car wash fundraiser that benefits a local non-profit organization. Individual members have served on local and national non-profit youth boards including the National President of the American Legion Boys Nation, the National Kappa League Board, the Washtenaw County Commission, and the Washtenaw County My Brother’s Keeper Program.
