I am organizing this fundraiser for a friend who is going through the process of divorce and getting herself back on her feet as a newly single mother to a young child. This sister wishes to remain anonymous but many of us in the community vouch for her. She is currently moving to a new apartment and working to start a new life while in the process of separating from a financially and emotionally manipulative husband. She has already been financially drained by him and now has to pay double expenses/ transitional expenses for a month or two as she moves herself and her daughter to their new living situation. She is very knowledgeable of potential resources and has already explored all government and nonprofit options. Unfortunately, she was unable to receive help for her specific circumstances. She is fully employed and capable of providing for herself and her daughter. She just needs help transitioning out of her current situation.
