Why Help is Needed
Imagine not having a bed. Or a table for meals, or chairs, a couch, or places for your children to sleep. There are many Veterans in San Antonio who are just getting back on their feet. They are previously homeless, and have very little to their name. Every year, nonprofit VetStrong helps approximately 200 previously homeless Veterans and their families fill their homes with much needed furniture.
To help provide missing furnishings, VetStrong receives donations of new or used household furniture and provides vetted clients with furnishings such as beds, tables, cribs, lighting, and chairs to make their house feel more like a home.
Now VetStrong needs YOUR help! VetStrong needs a moving truck to help pick up and deliver the donated items to the homes of their clients in need. Your donation can help us raise $38,900 to help move Veterans forward. Even a gift of $5 will help them get back on the road!
“We don’t own our own moving truck,” said VetStrong Founder & CEO James Pobanz. “In order to pick up or deliver items, we have to rent or beg to borrow one. Owning a moving vehicle we can rely on will support all aspects of our mission.”
My relationship with VetSTrong goes back to 2018. I have attended events, and worked with them to raise money for fellow Veterans and their families. The organization has grown so much since then, which has been amazing to see. Now they are ready to take their non-profit to the next step and have an even greater impact, with this new truck.
