RECIPE OF HOPE: Support India During Covid!

RECIPE OF HOPE - Building community & connections through food!

Recipe Of Hope is an initiative by Miti Desai, started with the intention of Service, Sharing, and Sustaining. It began with volunteering to share home-cooked food for a few elders living alone during the first lockdown and slowly Recipe Of Hope was founded. As we felt the second wave was disrupting normal life, Miti Desai joined hands with Piyush Jain, an old friend and colleague to lay the foundations of two new verticals to deal with the situation at hand - The COVID drive and Recipe Of Hope Plus. With the help of a big on-ground and back-end volunteer team, we are scaling as the demand persists across the city of Bengaluru. Recipe Of Hope is a volunteer driven initiative, inspired by the concept of  “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam”’ - The world is one family. The food is an offering from one family to another.

Our international coordinator, Esha Dhabuwala, along with our fundraising team—Sia Dhabuwala, Archita Gaur, and Eishita Gaur—aims to support this initiative in INDIA through fundraising here in the US. In order to help the communities affected by the covid crisis in India, please donate today!

How does the model operate in INDIA?

*ROH Plus narrows down the recipient community in need (Essential & Vulnerable Communities) in INDIA.

*ROH Plus sources home chefs, who can commit to bulk meals (Preferably individuals who are in need of work & these orders would support their livelihood).

*ROH Plus raises funds to support a community.

*ROH Plus facilities and coordinates the whole process.

Who are the beneficiaries of this initiative?

* We identify the beneficiaries as ESSENTIAL & VULNERABLE COMMUNITIES in INDIA.

* They are - Hospital staff, doctors, nurses, front-line volunteers, crematorium workers, ambulance drivers & vulnerable groups who are affected by the covid crisis.

* Simply said, those who need the support.

What do the donors contribute towards?

* Provision kits + Home chef cooking service + provision expenses + packaging expenses + delivery costs.

Meals are free of cost

* All meals are offered free of cost to the recipient communities.

* Inspired by the concept of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” - The world is one family. The meals are an offering from one family to another.

* The expenses are taken care of through donations, and your valuable contribution would go a long way in supporting the community. Please consider supporting the cause!
