We never imagined we’d be writing something like this — especially so soon after celebrating the beginning of our life together. But just months into our marriage, we experienced a devastating house fire that took a significant amount of items from us. While we’re so thankful to the Lord for His protection over our lives, the loss has been overwhelming. Our clothes, furniture, and every small item we used daily is gone due to smoke or fire damage.

It’s hard to describe the heartbreak of watching the life we were building go up in flames. We had just started creating memories as newlyweds, and now we’re faced with the overwhelming task of starting completely from scratch. While this season has been one of testing and refining, and though it’s hard, we believe God is still good and faithful through it all.

If you know us well, you know that it is difficult for us to ask for help. We prefer to be a blessing rather than receive the blessing. We’re reaching out with humble hearts to ask for help. We need to replace basic essentials — clothing, furniture, and the everyday items that make a home feel like home. While insurance may cover some of the costs, it won’t be enough to get us fully back on our feet.
