My name is Michelle Downer, but most people know me as D’Angel.
In 2016, I founded Angel’s Foundation with one simple mission: to lift people up when life knocks them down. For years, we’ve placed school supplies into little hands, Easter treats into empty bellies, and Christmas gifts under trees that would have stood bare.
We were humbled to receive the Irie FM Humanitarian Award from IRAWMA—but the real reward has always been the smiles we’ve restored to children, the elderly, single mothers, and families who felt forgotten.
Alongside my son, Marco-Dean, my heart has led me to the sick who cannot afford medicine, the homeless shivering on cold streets, the elderly abandoned by the world, children whose dreams are bigger than their plates, the disabled trapped in silence, and families with nothing left. We feed them. We clothe them. We hold them like family. And we help them stand again.
And as if this wasn't enought, Hurricane Melissa came and tore through our island.
Homes were destroyed. Animal companions were lost. Communities were cut off. Families are now without food, clean water, electricity, medicine, or safe roads. I have held sobbing mothers in the ruins of their kitchens and looked into the terrified eyes of children asking,
“Miss D’Angel… where do we sleep tonight?”
Jamaica is hurting—deeply and desperately.
I cannot sit with a broken heart and do nothing.
So today, I’m asking you to reach out with yours.

HOW WILL THE FUNDS BE USED
All funds raised through this GoFundMe will go directly towards rebuilding and repairing homes for those most vulnerable after Hurricane Melissa—single mothers and the elderly - across Jamaica.
Your support will directly help provide:
- Home rebuilding and major repairs, including roofing, walls, doors, windows, and basic structural work
- Safe, weather-resistant housing for single mothers caring for children alone
- Home restoration for elderly persons who are unable to rebuild on their own
- Building materials such as lumber, zinc, cement, blocks, and essential fixtures
- Basic furnishings so families can return to a livable, dignified home
- Transportation and labour costs to reach and rebuild in hard-hit and remote communities
Angel’s Foundation works hands-on with communities to ensure that assistance reaches those who need it most. We prioritize families with children and elderly persons living alone, especially where homes have been severely damaged or completely destroyed.
We operate with minimal administrative overhead, relying on volunteers and trusted partners so the majority of funds go directly into rebuilding homes and restoring lives. We will provide regular updates, photos, and progress reports so donors can see the real impact of their generosity.
