Application for Citizenship

Hi, my name is Jeremy. I am an American living in the UK. I came here with a British wife and two young children. Recently, out of the blue, my wife of 12 years revealed that she wanted a divorce and kicked me out of my home. Two days after I reluctantly left home, she had a boyfriend whom she continues to see and has introduced to my young children. I spent 4 weeks in hotels where I maxed out my credit card and used up all but £9 of my savings. Both of my children have UK Citizenship being born of a British Citizen. I have been devastated by my loss of home and family. I did not have any clue this was going to happen. I have managed to move into a flat 45 minutes from my children and have to commute by bus five and a half days a week for work. My pay leaves me less than £100 per month for discretionary spending after the bills are paid. I struggle to take my children anywhere that is not free. I want to continue my progress to become a UK citizen so that I can vote and participate in the community, but have no means of paying the £1650 citizenship fee. I have contacted the local Member of Parliament whose office advised that he has no means of getting any fees reduced or waived. I do not want to remain in a Country where I cannot take part in free government elections but I cannot go back to the US when my children here are 6 and 8 years of age. I have plans to remain here in the UK as I have a good job (where I am respected and treated fairly) and am working towards a retirement plan. Leaving my children here would be a disaster for me emotionally. Please help me become a Citizen and exercise my democratic rights and remain close to my young children!
