Hi everyone,
I wish this was a fun story. Kelsey and I have been living with our kids and Kelsey’s parents for roughly a year and a half. At the end of September, there was an arguement regarding boundaries that led to me being the recipient of a notice to quit from her parents. Kelsey is disabled, so she was devastated that her parents would kick out the only help she has at home. We started separating ourselves to prevent further conflict from Kelsey’s parents, kids included. Unfortunately, they responded to this by taking away Kelsey’s electric wheelchair, because they bought it and decided they didn’t want her to use it any longer. Kelsey has had multiple back surgeries, multiple herniated disks in her spine, degenerative disk disease, gout, lupus, fibromyalgia, just to name a few. In short, a lot of her daily life relied on use of this electric wheelchair, including taking her kids to school. We have decided that we want to leave as a result, but our resources are lacking because she can’t work. On top of that, because she lives at home without a lease, her ssi benefits reflect on the bills she doesn’t have. In other words, because she doesn’t have expenses in her name, ssi pays her less. We want to change all of this. We are asking for any help, to help her get mobile again, and to help us move. We are looking at a place in Tennessee. Moving that far, we’ll need to get new furniture and such, but we have a better shot at affording it in Tennessee then we do in California. This would ultimately mean a better upbringing for our 9 and 10 year old. Any support is greatly appreciated!
