I placed this notice to ask you to please consider helping our 8-month old nephew in Russia, who was seriously injured. The father’s name (my wife’s brother) is Kolya. His 8 month old son, our nephew -Misha, suffered a serious head and brain injury when he fell and struck his head .  Misha was in a coma after being placed in a small rural Russian hospital where the care is very poor. He was not able to receive proper medical care from a doctor until the following evening. The doctor had to travel 4 hours by car just to reach his remote village. The doctor explained to the family that Misha’s brain had swollen, and he suffered internal bleeding, which caused the brain to shift to one side.

The doctor’s prognosis to the family was not very positive.   He has since been through two operations and is recovering.  The doctors hope he will not need a third operation.  As a result of the injury, and significant unexpected medical expenses, Misha’s parents are struggling emotionally as any parent would. They are facing extreme challenges in covering the hospital expenses, as well as their basic living costs. So far, the hospital bills are approximately $10,000. Kolya’s salary is less than $200 per month -- a typical Russian salary. He has to drive 4 hours from his home just to get to the hospital. Any financial help that we could give them would be most helpful and very appreciated!! We ask for your prayers for Misha also.
