Help Us Save Our Zeus

Zeus isn’t just a dog; he’s family. He’s our 9-year-old German Shepherd/Boxer mix, but more than that, he’s been my rock, my comfort, and my protector through some of the hardest chapters of my life. He was there through my 20s when I felt lost, he stood by me through thick and thin, and he’s been the most loyal big brother and guardian to both of my daughters since the day they were born.

From the moment my oldest, Bella, came home, Zeus never left her side. He’s always been her watchful protector. And now with Mila, our 20-month-old, who climbs on him and tests his patience daily, he still loves her with the gentlest heart. He lets them cuddle him endlessly, he lies right in the busiest spot of the house like the hallway or kitchen (and refuses to move, no matter what), he is known for stepping on anyones feet with all 110 lbs of him without a care in the world ( He genuinely believes he’s a small breed). Just a gentle giant ❤️

Zeus has chewed through walls, doors, and even parts of our old home, but somehow he’s always been indestructible. That’s who he is: strong, stubborn, and larger than life.

But now… now I’m watching that strength slip away. His face is turning whiter with each passing day, his legs ache with arthritis, and these last couple of weeks his health has declined so much that my heart is breaking in ways I can’t even put into words. For the first time, Zeus doesn’t seem indestructible anymore, and I’m terrified.

I never thought I’d be in this position, but I’m reaching out because I need help. The vet bills are more than I can manage right now, and all I want is to give him the chance to feel better, to have more time with us, with his girls who adore him, and with our family the people he’s carried through so much.
