Eagle Scout project!

Hello, my name is Henderson (Sky) Vincent and I’m a Life Scout with Troop 1 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I started scouting when I was 6 years old. I'm 16 now and am asking for your investment in my Eagle Scout project – renovating and restoring some of the gardens behind the Temple Conference Center at Camp Loughridge.

I have spent a lot of time at Camp Loughridge as a summer camper and as a Troop One scout. The camp has served generations of Tulsans as a summer camp, outdoor learning center, and facility for different events such as weddings, but parts of it need renovation. Right now, the current bed is overgrown and really needs rehabilitation, especially since it is in an area seen by almost all visitors to the Camp. A new bed will help restore the appearance of the area and may increase the use of the facility, which means camp visitors will enjoy it more and Camp Loughridge will be able to fulfill its mission of transforming lives.

This is a big project. I will be clearing out two of the large flower beds around the main camp building, recycling some plants for use elsewhere on the grounds, edging and planting new plants in the beds. Based on estimates, this project will take approximately $2,800 to complete. The funds will cover purchase and delivery of the plants, steel edging, tools, equipment rentals and supplies. I will also be providing food and beverages for the friends and family who will be helping me with this project, which will take about 2 full days to complete.
