Hi, my name is Dorothy and I am a 27 year old Malawian single foster mom to 12 daughters. I am fundraising to build a permanent home for the 12 girls and even more girls to foster in the future. We live in a rented house and we sometimes get served with eviction notices, not because we don't pay rent, but because house owners usually feel 12 children is a lot to be in one house. My children are well behaved, do not damage property but still find it challenging as we just follow the landlord orders.
I have cared for the 12 girls for 2 years now, from when I was 25 years old and developed a strong bond with each one of them and so it is impossible for me to give up on them. I am fully committed to their well-being and so I pay for their everyday meals, emergencies such as hospital bills and school activities, education and all basic needs child needs.
Having our own permanent home would allow the girls to hang wall decorations in their rooms, have a forever sense of home and also help me minimise the stress of having to move them to a new school in a different location if and when evictions happen. We would also be rent free meaning more funds left for their food and emergencies.
I aim to help educate and care for more girls in the future and this is only possible if you help us achieve our goal. Thank you so much for your generosity!
