Hi, my name is Katelyn.

I am a Guide with 5th Oldham and i am young leader with 37th oldham which is part of Girlguiding. Here I volunteer locally with Rainbows aged 4-6 helping to provide activities in a safe space for them to enjoy, learn and grow.

In 2025 I have been lucky to be accepted as a participant with Manchester County Rangers on a 7 night trip to Switzerland where we will be visiting Our Chalet which is a Girlguiding World Centre as well as sightseeing, meeting up with other Guide and Scout groups and doing some adventurous activities. As part of the adventure we have to fundraise, manage our budget, plan our menu and organise our local transport.

I hope by the end of the trip to have gained some valuable independent living skills as well as experiencing a variety of cultures. I would be more than happy to come and talk about what I gained from our experience after the event.
