Stop the Quarry

September 2022 - this is an ongoing campaign to oppose Tarmac who are behind a proposal to destroy two working farms between Harlow and Stanstead Abbotts to create a very large gravel quarry on Green Belt land in East Hertfordshire.

Tarmac plan to extract 500,000t of gravel onto the A414 for 20 years, all to be transported by lorry onto a road system unable to cope with its current traffic levels let alone the increased amount. The land is currently an important part of the lungs of London, growing crops for UK food, though become part of the problem with increased dust, pollution, noise and road safety issues.

Funds raised will be used to hire experts able to assist in opposing this disaster.
