XR Edmonton plans ongoing joyful disruption of business as usual to make government take real climate action, and we could use your support.

Our chapter has been diligently working to expedite climate action for the last 8 months since our creation, and our voices are being heard. Following months of marches, rallies, letter-writing, and speaking at council meetings, the City of Edmonton declared a climate emergency and is expediting their city strategy to combat climate change. The declaration is a great first step, but we need your help to increase our capacity and continue to pressure our municipal, provincial, and federal governments to take swift and meaningful action against climate change.

Your donations will help us purchase items such as the following:
- Video recording equipment (such as GoPros) to ensure that protests receive fair coverage and to keep protesters safe.
- Art supplies for signs, banners, used t-shirts, and screen-printing.
- Advertising for our strikes, rallies, marches, and other actions.
- Transit fare to make meetings and actions accessible to all.
- ... and much, much more!

The Extinction Rebellion movement has three demands:

TELL THE TRUTH: Government must tell the truth by declaring a climate and ecological emergency, working with other institutions to communicate the urgency for change.

ACT NOW: Government must act now to halt biodiversity loss and reduce greenhouse gas emissions to net zero by 2025.

BEYOND POLITICS: Government must create and be led by the decisions of a Citizens’ Assembly on climate and ecological justice.
