Help Zoey Find Joy and Peace After Tragedy

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Jaymie, and I’m the mother of an incredible, kind-hearted girl named Zoey. On October 25, 2023, Zoey’s father lost his life in the Lewiston, Maine shooting. Losing a parent is a pain no child should have to endure, and in the time since, I’ve watched my daughter carry a weight far too heavy for her young heart.

Zoey has always worn her heart on her sleeve. She feels things deeply, and while she tries to be strong, I know how much she holds inside. In the last year, she has shown incredible resilience, but grief is an unpredictable journey—one that no child should have to navigate alone. I’ve done everything in my power to help her heal, from therapy sessions to creating a safe and loving home. But one thing that has truly helped her in ways nothing else can is horseback riding.

Why I’m Asking for Help

For years, horseback riding has been Zoey’s greatest passion. It wasn’t just something she loved—it was something that made her feel whole. Every weekend, her father, younger brother, stepfather, and I would be there to watch her ride, and her face would light up in a way that words can’t describe. Even after losing her dad, riding gave her a sense of peace and confidence—a small glow of happiness through all the heartbreak.

But as the months have passed, it’s been harder and harder to afford her lessons. With the weight of legal fees, therapy costs, and everyday life, I’ve had to make difficult financial choices—ones that no parent ever wants to make. I know horseback riding isn’t a necessity, but for Zoey, it has been her escape, her therapy, and her joy. I want to give that back to her—not just for now, but for years to come.

This fundraiser isn’t just about paying off legal fees—it’s about making sure Zoey has the support she needs to continue healing. The money raised will help get her back into horseback riding, covering the cost of lessons, travel, and equipment. It will also ensure she can continue therapy and help pay off the remaining legal fees, allowing us to focus on what truly matters—her healing.

How You Can Help

If you are able to donate or share this, you are helping give Zoey something priceless—hope. Every bit of support means the world to us.

Thank you for reading, for caring, and for being a part of Zoey’s healing journey.
