Walk for Arthur

Hi we are Danny carolan and ste Kelly and we are fundraising for Matthew McCormick-Hughes and his wife samantha’s son Arthur.

Arthur is 7 years old and on 19th March 2020 Arthur was diagnosed with duchenne muscular dystrophy,it’s a muscle wasting,life limiting terminal condition which affectts every muscle in the body including breathing and the heart,it’s a rare condition that only affects 2,500 boys in the uk at the moment ,their is no cure for it and eventually the illness will take Arthur’s life.

Myself and around 40 posties will be walking from Albert dock Liverpool to the millbrow pub in Widnes (around 14 miles)to raise money for an all-terrain wheelchair that costs around £18,000 .At the moment Arthur can walk but in the not too distant future that won’t be the case and sadly Arthur will be in a wheelchair for the rest of his life.The wheelchair will help Arthur enjoy days out with his family and give him independence and freedom and he won’t be limited to places he could visit.I think everyone would agree it’s a great cause,this is so heart breaking for Arthur and his family and would be eternally grateful if you could donate,thanks for taking your time to read this.
