Lets get to know the Unity Stage School C.I.C...
We are a fully inclusive Musical Theatre training provider offering tuition in the Tameside area. Our classes are run through our stage school – Unity and we operate classes from Dukinfield Old Chapel on Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings. We also are the proud founders of the Build a Future foundation. Our foundation was created to offer subsidiary funds for young people in the Tameside area who are wanting to access Stage / Performance training. Through Unity Stage School we also offer performances, entertainment, fundraising and other large events that benefit the local community and bring together its members.
Unity Stage School was founded in 2021 by our proprietor Catherine Cooper. The none profit organisation was established to provide a safe space for young people to access the arts, who may have not had the opportunity to in the past. The motto of 'Equality through Diversity' holds strong within our mission and we hold a duty to ensure each student is accepted by all members of our community.
In previous years we have helped students with identity crisis, mental health, physical disability and financial hardship to find a place of security and comfort. The organisation offers a safe space for all who wish to join and through the work of the Build a Future foundation, we can continue this work. We aspire to expand and advance to support as many young people as we can. We hope that you will join us on our journey, and we thank you for taking the time to explore our work and mission.
Jo & Natalie (Topsy Curvy) attended Unity Stage Schools most recent summer showcase and saw first hand the impact Unity has on everybody involved.
It truly is a safe space that the students can be 100% themselves and discover their own self confidence through the arts.
Jo & Natalie have since spent time with some of them and have got to know their personal backgrounds.
The struggles they face and how much Unity actually means to them. Witnessing the transformative impact Unity had on students, families and staff, they couldn't help but dive headfirst into supporting such an amazing cause.
Please donate anything you can to help keep this unique school providing such an amazing opportunity and safe space for all who need it.
