Always Archie - Noosa Marathon
Donation protected
On Saturday 24th May, myself and best mate Logan Wakeford will be running the Noosa Marathon in memory of my son, Archie.
Archie was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (AML) at just 4 months old - sadly passing just 2 months shy of his second birthday. He battled so bravely, and did it with an infectious smile on his face, something that makes me, as his Dad, just so proud.
As a family we are in the process of setting up a foundation in his name - Always Archie. In the meantime, this gofundme will be our second fundraiser event, with my sister, Helen, running in the UK Chester marathon the week before we run in Noosa.
Always Archie aims to support children and their families who are going through the journey we sadly know all to well. The journey is long, emotionally, physically and financially taxing. We aim to ease these burdens by way of gifts for the child, be that an ipad or something to make their hospital room feel more like home. We aim to support the families through food vouchers, cover costs of parking at the hospital - and if health allows, help towards experiences for the family to enjoy together. Always Archie will be focused solely on the Oncology Ward at the Queensland Children's Hospital.
Any donations will not only mean the world to us, but also provide much-needed support to families in need.
Look out for the launch of the official Always Archie foundation in the weeks to come.
