The Eleanor Burton Library

Tax deductible
The community group, Pelham ACES (Awareness for Community and Education Support), is raising funds for signage to rename the Memorial School Library the “Eleanor Burton Library.” The school building project does not include funds to add the lettering and a plaque to honor Eleanor who was a prominent and beloved member of our Pelham community. Eleanor's journey of service began in the 1940's as a health screener at the Sherburne School and continued through her lifetime. She served as a teacher's aid and a Title I tutor from the 60's through the 80's. She served on the School Board for 7 years in the 2000's and received the "Champions for Children Award" in May of 2009.

The Pelham ACES will use any funds raised above and beyond this goal to seed a scholarship fund in Eleanor's honor. Once up-and-running, this scholarship will be awarded to an out-going senior who exemplifies Eleanor's commitment to community!

We want to recognize and honor her tireless efforts in making a positive impact on the lives of our students and the entire community. We will keep her spirit of dedication to service alive by naming the Pelham Memorial Library the Eleanor Burton Library. Thank you for donating to keep her legacy of compassion, generosity, and commitment to education alive!
