Hi everyone,

I honestly debated whether to create this fundraiser at all. I didn’t want to sound desperate or like I was begging however, seeing my sister, Lisa Jones, getting ready to start cancer treatment, being in so much pain already, I realized that asking for help is the most loving thing I can do for her right now.

Lisa is about to begin chemotherapy and radiation for a rare, aggressive and very painful cancer in the pelvic region within days. While insurance is covering her treatments, there are many costs that are not covered. Lisa will need to travel to Pikeville Cancer Center every weekday for several weeks, which is about a 45-minute drive each way. The cost of gas alone will be a major burden during this time.

Lisa’s husband, Rocky, has been off work, and they were already struggling with bills and groceries before this diagnosis. Lisa is also the primary caregiver of Makyla and Lucas, who both have very special needs. Caring for them is demanding, and getting ready to start treatment makes balancing everything even harder.

Their vehicle also needs new tires to safely make the daily trips for treatment. Reliable transportation is critical, and this is an expense they weren’t prepared for.

Lisa is already experiencing significant pain, swelling, and discomfort that makes sitting and traveling extremely difficult. She will need special seat cushions, car support items, and comfort supplies to help her get through treatment and the daily drive.

This fundraiser is not about medical bills, it’s about helping Lisa and her family:
