Volunteering in Zambia
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Jenny, and I’m fundraising to support ongoing sporting and educational projects in Lusaka, Zambia ,where I’ll be volunteering for 8 weeks as a Netball Development Officer in June and July this year.
I will be representing the University of Stirling and working in collaboration with the Wallace group and Sport In Action (SIA). Alongside students from 7 other UK universities, we will support local communities prioritised by SIA, sharing our expertise to establish and support the sustainable development of sport, focusing on netball and particularly women in sport.
Our mission is to make a difference to the lives of young Zambian people by empowering and enriching communities, through the power of sport, leadership and education. I am raising funds to support and contribute to the incredible work being done by Sport In Action.
Fundraising will go towards; First aid course, safeguarding course and disclosure costs - Return flights to Zambia - Accommodation for eight weeks - University of Stirling Sport kit.
In order to fundraise I will be taking part in the Edinburgh half marathon on the 25th of May. In April I will be doing the Killiecrankie bungee jump. As well as organising events within my netball squad at the University of Stirling.
I would be so grateful for any amount of donation or support. Which will make a huge difference in enabling us to provide sporting opportunities for young women and children in Lusaka.
