I’m reaching out to share the story of my amazing friend Sasha, who is currently in the process of transitioning. Sasha is one of the most courageous, kind, and genuine people I know, and she’s taking steps to embrace her true self. However, as many of you may know, transitioning comes with significant financial challenges and other essential costs.

Anyone who knows Sasha will tell you how selfless and supportive she is. She’s the kind of person who always puts others first—whether it’s being a shoulder to cry on, cheering someone on when they need encouragement, or offering her time and energy to help a friend in need. Her warmth, humor, and generosity have touched so many lives, including mine. Now it’s our turn to show Sasha the same love and support she has so freely given to others.

Beyond the financial hurdles, we’re living in a time when being transgender is more dangerous and challenging than ever. With the current administration and their ongoing attacks on transgender rights, it’s a scary time for the trans community. Policies and rhetoric are making it harder for transgender individuals to access the care they need and to simply live with dignity and safety.

Sasha deserves to live authentically and confidently, free from the financial burdens and pressures that can make this process so difficult. She deserves to see that love and support outweigh hate and fear.
