Help Daryl Heal
Donation protected
We are supporting Daryl in his journey to the Amazon jungle, his first trip out of the country at 73 years old. He has been fighting to heal from the trauma of decades of living in South Central LA's most notoriously violent neighborhood, an environment so dangerous that postal workers only deliver mail twice a week. For more than a decade, Daryl has taken multiple buses and trains every week, a 6-hour journey out of the 'hood, to get to his healing community, Journey to Worthy, so that he can continue to learn to love himself and heal from the self-hatred and fear emerging from the trauma of being homeless, sleeping on buses all night for safety, living in dehumanizing conditions in homeless shelters and the daily struggle of literally...surviving.
Finally, he's gathered the courage to take the journey of a lifetime and overcome his fears in traveling to the Amazon Rainforest of Peru to experience the deepest healing at the hands of a master Shaman. We honor Daryl and the hundreds of hours he has dedicated to working on himself--reading books, attending healing workshops, practicing meditation, eating a better diet, all to heal his mind, body and soul.
We recognize the effort Daryl was making on his own to raise funds for his journey by eating only "rice and beans" for months to save every dime he could scrap together for a journey such as this. With the hum of the famous lyrics, "I get by with a little help from my friends..." we're seeking support for Daryl to cover the financial costs of airfare, healing ceremonies, necessary supplies and food throughout the journey, gifting this beautiful soul with the ultimate healing trip to the Peruvian jungle!!!
Thank you for giving, thank you for seeing our brother, and thank you for helping him to heal.
