Hello Friends!
The Jefferson County Historical Society in Louisville, Georgia is home to historical records and artifacts of the county dating back to its founding in 1786 as well as earlier periods when the land remained a part of neighboring counties. Louisville, the county seat, was most notably the first permanent capital of Georgia.
The Jefferson County Historical Society needs you help. We are in need of several updates and repairs, in addition to covering our $10,000 in yearly expenses. If you can help by offering your time or skills with these needs, please contact us by clicking the contact button at the bottom of our page or reaching out on facebook. If you can help us financially by making a donation through this page, we would be so grateful.
Please help us save this treasure in our community so future generations will have access to its history as well.
