Sawyer is a 6 year old sweetheart that has a rare genetic disorder called Sanfilippo Syndrome (often compared to childhood Alzheimer's). It cannot be cured at this time, and most children live to be 12 years of age. Sam and Brittany have dedicated their lives to making Sawyer comfortable, safe, and happy during the years she has here on Earth.
One of the biggest struggles they face each day is Sawyer's inability to feed herself. Each meal, Brittany or Sam sits down and feeds Sawyer bite by bite. But, because of Sanfilippo Syndrome, she often forgets what she is doing, gets up to wonder around, or simply flails around making it difficult for them to feed her.
Even with government assistance, they are still struggling to afford the adaptive high chair they need to be able to successfully feed Sawyer. The minimum cost for a special needs adaptive high chair of the caliber they need would be around $3,000. Let's see if we can raise that money to help a family in need. <3
