On November 8th, I’ll be running the Mamba 100-mile ultramarathon in Memphis, Tennessee in honor of my grandfather—Pop Pop—who recently passed away from pancreatic cancer.
Pop Pop was always in motion. He spent much of his life hiking the trails of Michigan and Colorado, finding peace and purpose in nature. After I finished my first ultra, 50 miles, he was the first person I called. He understood why these challenges matter—why we go out there and push ourselves to the edge.
This race is my way of carrying him with me for 100 more miles. I’ll be running to raise money for pancreatic cancer research, and to honor the life of a man who always kept moving forward.
All donations will go directly to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN), a leading nonprofit working to improve outcomes for patients through research, clinical initiatives, advocacy, and patient support.
