I never imagined my family would have to face something like this. Watching my stepdad be detained by ICE has been one of the most painful and overwhelming experiences of our lives. He is a devoted husband, a loving father, a steady provider, and the heart of our family.

To his wife, he is a partner who has stood beside her through every challenge, building a life together rooted in love, sacrifice, and hard work. To his kids, he is a protector, a role model, the one who shows up — whether it’s with advice, encouragement, or simply a comforting presence at the end of a long day. He has worked tirelessly to give his family stability and opportunity, always putting them first.

Seeing him taken away feels unreal and deeply unfair. Our home feels incomplete without his laughter, his guidance, and the strength he brings into every room. The uncertainty is heavy, and the silence he leaves behind is loud.

But even in this painful moment, we hold onto the resilience he has taught us. We stand together — his wife, his children, and all of us who love him — united in support, hope, and faith.
