My name is Yulia. I'm from Ukraine, and I moved to California almost three years ago.
I have a small home bakery in Hanford
On February 24, 2022, Russia invaded Ukraine
Over the past few weeks, I watched my county being attacked and my people being killed by Russian soldiers.
I remember talking to my friends and family that day.
It seemed like the whole country just stopped. People didn't go to work or school. They didn't know what to do.
But the next day, people realized that to protect their land, freedom, their homes, and families - everybody needs to work together.
Since then, I have talked to a few of my friends, people I worked with, and people personally know and trust.
They are volunteering and working together to privately buy and deliver humanitarian helo to people that need it.
The war didn't stop life.
People with cancer, diabetes, heart conditions still need their medicine.
Babies are still being born and need formula. But now missiles are falling from the sky.
The pharmacies and stores are not open, and people hide in bomb shelters.
I've talked to my friends and asked how we can help. Everyone tells me that right now, they just need a lot of money.
They have people buying things abroad in neighboring countries (stuff like medicine, heaters, water purifiers, and food) and deliver them to the Ukrainian border, where my friends and other volunteers pick them up and give them to people who need them. They are risking their lives, filling up their cars with supplies, and bringing them to people who need them.
And they need more money to be able to keep doing it.
I'm asking you to join me in raising funds to help people in Ukraine.
$25 will buy one dose of medicine
$50 will cover a first aid kit
$100 will provide supplies for a mother and a baby for a week
Any amount you can donate helps.
