Our small town of Barnegat, New Jersey is in need of new leadership, new direction and honest, responsible government. For far too long this town has been headed in the wrong direction. Taxes have risen and property values have plummeted. Our town leaders would now like us to completely mortgage our future and kick the can down the road. They have decided that taking on DEBT is a good way to fix things. I would ask you, if they cannot even decide which political party they should be a member of, should they be allowed to decide what is good for our small town? Our Plan:
· Restore honest responsible leadership to Barnegat. Make sure that the residents of Barnegat know what is going on and protect their interests before all others.
· Put a budget in place that works for Barnegat. No hiding of expenses. Distribute a user friendly budget that allows residents to see where the town money comes from and more importantly, where it is spent.
· Promote a town identity and unity. This town cannot exist if our local politicians keep driving a wedge between our residents. We are ALL Barnegat. From the youngest to the oldest, we must join together to make our town the very best it can be.
· Stop building more homes. Barnegat is overrun with homes that our residents have lost to foreclosure, sold it for under market value or simply walked away. The only people profiting from new homes are the developers who will never lose money. Down the line vacant homes will attract an unsavory element that our town may never be able to recover from.
· Reduce all the red tape and restrictions that cause businesses to avoid Barnegat. Attract new business that will draw in people traveling in New Jersey and surrounding area residents.
· Install a Parks Director to maintain and oversee the operation of the town’s facilities.
As we have stated before candidates cannot solve the problems facing Barnegat but as ONE town, ONE community, ONE collective group WE the good people of Barnegat can! Be part of that change.
