I am Suad Ahmed, a mother of two young children who have known nothing but the pain imposed on us by the war for nearly two years.
My daughter is no more than four years old, seeking safety and warmth in my arms. My other child is an innocent infant who cries for milk, diapers, and clothes, which I am unable to provide due to the high cost of living.
My husband is injured and unable to support us, and our home has been destroyed by bombing more than once, leaving us homeless and without a sense of stability. Every day we wake up to the sounds of war and fear, and all I can do is hold my children and cry silently, unable to provide for their most basic needs.
My only dream as a mother is to see my daughter play safely, to be able to buy my infant milk to satisfy his hunger, and to provide them with protection from the cold of winter and the heat of summer.
I write to you hoping that my story will reach your compassionate hearts, and that your support will be a light that restores my children's right to childhood and gives us some peace of mind after years of fear and suffering
Knowing that my husband's sister, who lives in Germany, is the one who will be in charge of delivering the money to us
