On July 8, 2022 our father, Stephen Coker, 60, who honors the principles of the Bible and reverences living the life of Christ was convicted of rape.

This father of 6 children has worked at Chrysler for 30 years, has no prior charges, has led an exemplary, Christian life but was charged and convicted of 3 counts of first degree felony rape after a two day trial in Wood County, a county whose population is 86% white and 6% black. The rapes allegedly occurred in Rossford, Ohio in the home of Mr. Coker and his wife, Shawna Coker.

Rossford’s population is 94% white and 1% black. Mrs. Coker is white. After the indictments Mr. Coker was offered, by the prosecutor, a plea bargain which consisted of 3 counts of 3rd degree Sexual battery. If Mr. Coker, who maintains his innocence, had accepted the plea bargain he would become a Tier III sex offender, be required to register every 90 days as a sex offender, four years of community control and 6 months of electronic monitoring. While this plea bargain seems generous Mr. Coker would not agree because he is innocent.

Our father was sentenced August 16,2022 and is facing 6 year prison sentence. Our father provides for his children and grandchildren even though 5 are adults.

We are organizing this gofundme to help with his daily expenses, accumulating bills along with the expenses to cover the fees of those who will overturn his situation to bring about a change and better outcome which could range from $5000 to $18,000.
