Hey! We’re the Weick family! On June 27,2012 we opened our home and hearts for our precious girl Amari through fostering. We fought to adopt her and we were finally able to adopt on March 26,201. We found out last night that the birth mother filed an appeal to the adoption. There is a slim chance it could go in their favor, but still a chance.. We’re faced with having to sign a new retainer and find $7,500 so the attorneys that we had during the adoption can represent us during the appeal. Otherwise we may have to represent ourselves and that wouldn’t be good. We don’t understand why this is happening. We need to feel His presence more than ever. It’s all confusing, but it’s true. We don’t know how or why, but they filed an appeal and it was accepted by the courts. With it being a different court from before, our attorney is asking us to sign and pay for a new retainer. It is an emotional roller coaster that’s for sure.
