Donna's Cancer Journey

Hi, my name is Kathie, and I'm raising money for my sister, Donna Gilles. She is a widow, who is raising her grandson. A few months ago she had a heart attack, and then just 2 weeks later found out that she had breast cancer.

Due to her heart being so weak they couldn't do a mastectomy on her till she gained some strength. Finally last week her surgery was scheduled for Aug. 18. After she recovers from that, she will have to go in and get another stent put in her heart.

Because she has been weak from the heart attack (and needs another stent) she had to quit her job. She is struggling to pay her bills, as well as the extra cost of caring for her teen grandson. Medical bills are adding up as well. (One of the pathology lab bills for her biopsy was denied by insurance, and the cost was $3,900.)

Funds will be used to help her pay her bills while she waits for surgery, and then after while she is recovering.
