My family home was destroyed in the Eaton fire in Altadena this week. We have been so overwhelmed by the love and support we have received this week and my parents are really uncomfortable with the idea of any additional support, but as the reality of this loss sets in….if folks are in a position to contribute to support my parents through this process, it would mean more than I can begin to put in words. We are all safe, but are immensely grieving the loss of our home, all our belongings, and our community. My father was a union organizer for his whole career and my mom an ESL teacher at Pasadena City College, their dedication to community has been foundational to my upbringing.
