Sarah's legacy
Donation protected
Family and friends, as you know, Sarah Louise Brammer (née Nermo) has lived with and through triple negative inflammatory breast cancer since September 2020. She lived and loved through surgeries, chemotherapies, radiotherapies, and everything else.
Sarah died on Saturday April 15, 2023, peacefully and without pain. Her brother Akeem was holding her hand. The day before she passed, Sarah held, kissed, cuddled, and spoke to her two boys Ennis (8) and Sami (3).
Sarah was a mother, artist, poet, wife, daughter, sister, friend. She leaves a legacy of notebooks, typewritten poems, mixed media works and a thousand little art pieces. Sarah's husband Paul will carry forward this legacy in the months and years ahead, and plans to share Sarah's beauty and art with the world. There is no distinction between Sarah's art and beauty. Sarah was art and beauty and spirit and love.
Sarah's most beautiful legacy is the two beautiful boys that she brought into the world, Ennis (8) and Sami (3). They carry the spirit and beauty and art and love of Sarah within them, and Paul will protect this legacy with every ounce of love and gentleness possible. And he will lean gently on the love and support of family and friends.
Now, Paul, Ennis and Sami plan to move into the next phase of living, finding a small sanctuary of love to call home in Abbotsford. It will be a peaceful little family home filled with the art and beauty and love and spirit that Sarah brought into the world.
We would appreciate any small contributions that friends and family can make to help this gentle plan come into existence.
The final word is from Sarah -
oh the breath of you
like sweet warm blueberries
the winding road
home
your stretching arms
'big hug mama'
curls of salt and milk
tacky fingers
warm belly
out of love and from me
i give you the mountains
- mama
