Hello everyone,
I am raising funds for my brother, David “DA” Tovar, who is courageously battling testicular cancer.
About a year ago, David was diagnosed and underwent surgery to remove the tumor, followed by chemotherapy. During follow-up CT scans, doctors discovered that the cancer had spread rapidly to his abdomen and chest. He began chemotherapy again, but unfortunately it was not effective. As more tests were performed, his condition worsened, and he became extremely weak, unable to work or continue his normal daily routine.
Doctors in McAllen then recommended high-intensity chemotherapy, an aggressive treatment that destroys bone marrow and stem cells. David was sent to Houston for further testing, but the procedure could not be done there. After waiting for another referral, he was finally able to receive care at a hospital in San Antonio.
To begin this treatment, David has had to travel for weeks at a time to receive chemotherapy and injections to increase his cell counts. He has now completed the first of two transplants and is currently in the most difficult stage of recovery. He remains weak and continues to fight, but the toll on his body has been overwhelming. He is extremely frail and malnourished due to the intensity of the chemotherapy and medications.
Recently, doctors discovered another tumor that is growing rapidly, which has been devastating news for David. Emotionally and physically, he is exhausted, discouraged, and struggling to keep going. There are moments where he feels like giving up—but his medical team is continuing to adjust his treatment plan, and doctors are working toward better treatment options to fight this new tumor.
I am raising this money to help David with anything he needs during this battle, medical bills, food, travel expenses, household bills, supplies, and daily necessities, so he can focus on healing and finding the strength to continue fighting.
Any donation, share, or prayer means more than words can express. Thank you for taking the time to read his story and for supporting my brother during the hardest fight of his life.
God bless you all ❤️
