Help Save the Museum of Cannock Chase
Donation protected
The Museum of Cannock Chase has recently closed due to Council funding cuts.
A Group of 10 volunteers have set up Chase Heritage CIC and will soon apply to
become a CIO (Charitable Incorporated Organisation). The active steering group
brings to the campaign a variety of skills, but more will be needed as we move
forward.
We are also working closely with Council Officers, individual Councillors and our
MP on this campaign, but more help will be needed at different times going
forward.
Right now, the steering group of volunteers is having to fund everything out of our
own pockets - but it is simply not sustainable.
So we are appealing to any individuals, clubs, pubs, or groups in the area to help
the campaign by covering the initial essential costs such as registrations, paying
for formal documents and legal and administrative costs etc.
Initially we about £1,000 to pump prime our campaign.
Every time our local dads, grandads, and brothers went down the pits locally, they
had to cling to the hope that they would return. We want the museum to continue,
with a new vision, where those miners are front and centre to the story and social
history of our area.
So now we must also hold onto hope, digging deep to do whatever we can to tell
their story to future generations, on this truly authentic site.
