The Story So Far

In July 2022, the Hughes family received the unbearable news that their incredible little boy, Otis, has been diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (AML) at just 17 months old. After 5 months of chemotherapy and hospital living, Oti's blood cells ran clear and he spent Christmas at home with his loved ones, but February 2023 saw a return of leukaemia cells and a new treatment plan involving a bone marrow transplant.

While fighting the biggest battle of their lives, the Hughes' family have somehow still found strength to raise awareness for others on this journey, and together with their community, raise a staggering amount of almost £40,000 in donations to a number of hugely worthy causes (https://gofund.me/bc040dcf and more!).

But now the plan continues; Oti's bone marrow transplant will be later this year in Bristol, 3 hours from their home in Cambridgeshire, and means living a double life for an uncertain amount of time to keep both of their young boys where they need to be. They'll need to cover living expenses like accommodation, travel, food ...all the necessities, and it will undoubtably be a huge financial burden.

How You Can Help

The Hughes' family have been so overwhelmed with support so far and are so grateful for the continued requests to help. Which is the reason for this page - the most help we can give now is to channel this into funds so they can action what they need as and when they need it, and keep their sights set firmly on their family without distraction.
